UNA Women Commitee
Our UNA Women Committee seeks to raise awareness about gender equality and the importance of empowering women and girls in the Greater Sacramento Area. We achieve our work through partnerships & collaborations with other women empowerment organizations & professionals in order to provide them a platform to share their crucial work with the community. We encourage all UNA Sacramento & community members to consider joining our active coalition of UN women advocates today!
Human Rights Committee
Members of this committee wholeheartedly believe that human rights are inalienable fundamental rights that are inherent in all human beings, regardless of their age, ethnic origin, location, language, religion, ethnicity, or any other status. As such, we condemn all acts of human rights abuses perpetuated at home & abroad, and the goal of this committee is to highlight human rights abuses happening around the world and present on what the UN is doing about it.
Climate Action Committee
The climate’s erratic & aggressive weather patterns these last couple of years has confirmed that Climate Change is no hoax. Members of our Climate Action Committee shall meet to discuss matters related to climate action and develop programming to raise awareness on matters related to reducing greenhouse gasses; and adapting to climate change.
Peace for Palestine & Israel Committee
Members of our Peace for Israel and Palestine Committee seek to bring awareness & education to the Greater Sacramento Community about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that has been ongoing for over 70 years. Ultimately, we believe the Palestinian people have a right to self-determination and a right to return to their land. At the same time, we recognize that Israel absolutely has an unconditional right to exist. Our desire is to find common understanding amongst the Israelis & Palestinians so that we may come to the table and discuss how both peoples can best reach the desired outcome: peace for all.
Fundraising Committee
Although we wish it were not true, the world runs on money. All our advocacy efforts & initiatives have overhead costs, and the goal of this committee is to brainstorm innovative and creative ways to fundraise and support all our programming & outreach campaigns in advocating for the UN’s mission, vision, and values.
