With its mission advancing systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), and its sustainable transport blog TransportiCA, are proud to announce the return of the Transport and the Triple Bottom Line Summit (“Summit”). Taking place virtually on Friday, 23 April, from 10:00-16:00 PST (UTC-7), this year’s theme is, “What the Heck is Equity?”
With the transport sector emitting the most greenhouse gases and carbon, and equity being the forefront for responsible transport planning and investment long overdue, the Summit provides attendees with a the universally accepted definition of “equity,” then transforms this definition, in the context of transport equity.
This year’s keynote speaker is Leslie Aguayo, MCP–Transportation Equity Program Manager for the Greenlining Institute, and co-author of Greenlining’s recent publication, “Clean Mobility Equity: A Playbook”– TransportiCA’s April 2021 Book Club selection. Aguayo’s keynote address examines “What is Equity and Transport Equity?”
Following the keynote session, the Summit includes two panel discussions on “The Environmental and Financial Cases for Transport Equity,” with the concluding session, “Inspiring Action and Deliverables: Where do We Go from Here,” providing further opportunities for attendees to advance equity.
